We decided to check out Biskey today to see what was left and were pleasantly surprised to see it is pretty darn well covered except for a few spots by the pines in places! Biskey has not been groomed in awhile despite having quite a bit of snow left, so we skied in our own tracks. The snow, although fresh and sparkly, needs to mature so we are able to have more glide less clump! It was interesting how we were able to glide for a long time then it would just clump for awhile then glide again! It's so peaceful and pretty out there that just being at Biskey is a treat! Many tracks on the trail, from a wide variety of four legged wild critters!

We were pleasantly surprised at how much conditions stayed the same since our last week's venture to Biskey! Once past the first part by the lot, the trail is 99% covered and the tracks are 98% still in tact despite having not been groomed and walkers on them! We skied the entire system on the awesome spring "corn" snow and had a blast! We saw a golden eagle and some bear prints too! It sure would be nice if people would get a clue and stop walking on the trails though.

We were both delighted and disappointed when we skied at Biskey today. There is a lot of snow at Biskey, at least 14 inches on the sides of the trail and the entire trail is fully covered except for two small areas under the pines way out. Unfortunately people are walking all over the tracks and so are dogs in mass along Wolf Run and not as much on the other trails, but they are still walking. We accidentally turned right onto a new logging road that we thought was the right turn at the bottom of Wolf Run and went down it for awhile...it just looked like something that had not been groomed recently. The tracks are pretty much in tact despite the footprints and we had the entire trail system to ourselves.

It was a beautiful day in the woods. The trail was great today. Some sections were closed for logging. The tracks were good too. Some spots were a little icy and others were soft.

Very nice groomed trails. Temps. were in the 30's. We used waxed skis with 30 + wax, nice for ascending and descending hills. First time skiing here but we will be back. I recommend the Intermediate East Ridge Loop clockwise to take in all the different terrains and a wonderful overlook at 1400 ft. at the top of the ridge. Pine meadow and Biskey loops were closed due to logging. I highly recommend using the trail maps available as they are a little more detailed for following trails.

Fun classic trail to ski with long gradual ups and downs. Tracks for the most part are in good shape with a hand full of spots where you need to step out. The trail you take to get back to the parking lot has variable track quality. They didn't groom the Biskey Pond loop at the end of the other small side loop right before the Biskey loop. It's a really peaceful beautiful place to ski about 30 min for UMD.
