Trail Reports

2017-2018 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 22    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The 2 inches of snow we received made the trail quite nice for classic. The trail was much slower and the ice underneath really didn't bother us. The pole plants were quite adequate. I'm not sure how the coming snow will affect the trail. If you want the exercise it might be fun to give this interesting trail a try.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We did some fast classic skiing today. The snow was 90 percent shaded. We had a thin ice layer over the snow. Classic grooming from earlier this week held up great. The group flew around the course. Going down the steep slopes was an adventure...so much fun. The topper to the day was almost being run over by a herd of deer that came down a snowmobile path that intersects the area.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Went out this morning and cut, combed and reset the track. The track is in good shape, a few shallow spots. Get out and enjoy the trails while they last! Today was the last time the trails will be groomed for the season. Happy skiing!

We had a great time skiing. Classic trails were nicely groomed and fast. Some ice under the steep hills, good workout getting up. Can't wait to get back again.

Grooming

Groomed and reset the track this morning. Overall trails are in good condition. The ski surface is deteriorating quickly. Get out early this weekend and enjoy the trails while they last! Grooming operations will be extremely limited for the remainder of the season.

We tried the trails for the first time. Very nice undulation on the trails. Some very nice hills. The snow was quite fast considering conditions. All of us enjoyed the new trails. Thumbs up to the groomer.

One more amazing job, by the groomers. The tracks were perfect, deep and firm, the deck, holding wax, but still allowing plenty of glide. Coming downhill, from the back end, into the afternoon sun, through old white pines, was spectacular. Close to much, but still feeling very remote and wild. Try some thin layers of red, and enjoy!
