Notes

A great hilly trail system completely in the woods. Because of the woods, the trails hold their snow better than most.

Beautiful. Entered from the west parking lot. As of 9 am, one skier had broken trail, and a hiker had decided to help (sic) in breaking through the powder. But their route went elsewhere and after the first turnoff (from the west parking lot which is plowed), I enjoyed breaking trail. Watch out for the tree that is down towards the bottom of the first hill. You can climb over it with skis on but can't ski around it.

A few people have walked or ran on the trails, and it's pretty rut filled. Different terrain than I have skied on before with large trenches almost like wheel tracks down them. Also a little icy in places and sticky in others, but it's one of my last days to ski for awhile, so I got out there anyway. Really glad I found this park a few years ago via this site.

I've always wanted to ski at Terrace Oaks, I've heard good things about the terrain and always enjoy going past Buck Hill, reminiscing about the good ol' days when there were mountain bike trails were housing developments now exists. I pulled in just after the groomer was finishing up the morning groom, around 10am. Even though the center point was soft, the snow skied fast and really enjoyed the rolling hills. The ruts described in recent report were from the tracked vehicle used in grooming. I was on my good skis and had no issue. Fun trail, hope to get back some day to ski again. Loved the big oak trees still holding snow on the branches. Thanks for the previous reports that helped me choose this place to ski. Well worth the "out of way" trip.

Trail was rolled and groomed this morning. It's beautiful in the woods today, get out while there is snow! The skate deck was really soft with deep snow, which hasn't set-up yet. Classic tracks looked perfect. Be careful of some really deep snow pockets though! My skis sank about 6 inches and I bailed several times in similar deep spots. They're deceptive.

Freshly groomed, though still lots of ruts and footprints. Tracks looked good except for the oak leaves. Crusty and very fast.

Went around 1pm. Great snow coverage. However due to sunny warm day was like mash potatoes. Took lots of effort! And slow downhills. A few icy spots due to shade.

The short trail and middle trail (about 5 K) were groomed for skate and classic. Soft corduroy. Beautiful woods. No dog walkers had done damage as of 4:15 pm.

Terrace Oaks survived warm-up. Fresh coating of new snow (maybe half inch of dense snow). Trail freshly groomed today. Skate skied all trails. Trails are in very good condition (smooth) for skating, even open areas that are being restored in NW corner of park. Classic track looked good, although there is quite a bit of ice in it, and tracks are deeper than last time I skied at park. Classic skiing will require klister for kick. Be careful walking in parking lot and path down to chalet as the asphalt is very icy.
