Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
No classic tracks. The deck is very rough and uneven. It's not groomed smooth at all. I somewhat thought the trails would be smoother than they are. There are very few bare spots. Good skis can be used.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Good snow on top of crust. No grooming yet. Tracks on most segments, some decent. Hopefully improved by my skiing on them and adding others. A few low areas are wet but easy to get around. Mine was the only car in the lot and I had the place to myself. Some areas of strong wind and drifting. Very beautiful.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
Skied at 2pm. Plenty of snow coverage. Slush under the trail in a few spots. No grooming, but a few rough tracks from earlier skiers. Skied Brown's pond and Hills section. A nice day to enjoy the outdoors.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Tree covered areas provided good snow on these natural trails. Areas where the sun was able to peak through were not as lucky with several large parts of the trail eroding completely. We had to pick up the skis and walk a few sections but it was still nice enjoying these lovely trails in this difficult winter. Kudos to the groomers for getting the most out of it!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Skied all east side trails. There were sections of beautiful snow and conditions. Yet there were bare spots to be skirted, lots of snirt, and some rocks. I didn't find any perfect loop. All that said, many thanks to the groomers for doing as much as possible with the limited new snow and no base. It was great to see some different scenery on skis this winter in the East Metro.

Nordic Center trails (east side) were rolled and packed yesterday. Freshly groomed this morning. Some bare spots, debris, but overall good conditions.

Thanks to a previous post that the trails were open, my daughter and I ventured out. I was so happy to get on skis, and I found the trails actually in pretty good shape, considering it is late in the season and there was no previous base. Some of the trails have some bare spots that you can ski around them. I was sad to see that the back green trail has been groomed out of many of the trees that protected it. Also, unfortunately people have been out walking on the East ski trails, and I ran into a group of six walking out on the trails.
Thanks to the groomers that made this possible. So good to get out!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Did a quick loop at Lake Elmo just to check it out. Trails were rolled this morning, but no tracks set. Sounds like they may try grooming tomorrow depending on how the day goes. Coverage is pretty good for the most part. A couple spots with bare dirt, but I was able to ski around those areas. Very appreciative of the Washington County groomers for giving it a go and trying to give us at least one weekend of natural snow skiing this winter.
