Trail Detail
Notes
Most trails ramble through hardwood forest along any of several routes across all difficulty levels. Camel Back provides some fun hills, but Oak Run is particularly exciting. Morgan Lane offers beautiful view of a pond from a birch-lined ridge while effortlessly gliding back to the trailhead. Infrequently groomed.Trail Reports

Sunfish Lake xc ski trails are extrodinary. The mature first has been protected for generations from development. The Hilly terrain has perfectly laid out twisty course up and down around small lakes. In the photos you'll see the lower terrain and the ridges of the hills surrounding them. The loops created can keep you having fun for hours.

Sunfish used to be double-tracked for classic (and no skating is allowed). But there are lots of walkers and snowshoe folks who also use this park. I was very encouraged at the parking lot -- one nice deep classic groomed track and a rolled area next to it for the walkers. However, after a short way, the trail was just rolled, as we went up Rabbit to Camelback. No groomed track. The trail became a mess of hiking boot prints, snowshoe prints and very shallow meandering skied in tracks. Someone had even tried to skate. We gave up after less than 30 minutes, even though I knew there had to be a groomed track on some of the trails. This is a really lovely hilly wooded park. For now, we will consign this beautiful park to 3 seasons of hiking, along with visiting their beautiful new nature center.
