Notes

A great mix of beginner and expert ski trails. With the inclusion of the Jerry Jolly Trails there is about 25 km groomed for skating and classic. There is also an additional 15 km of classic only trails. With views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, this is a very scenic area to ski. There is a nice lodge which sells snacks and food as well as a ski patrol and small downhill area.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Steve and I groomed and tracked: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Seagull Connector, Rollercoaster, Telford, Sugarbush Classic, Sugarbush Dog Trail, Birch Hill and Oppedahl's. Seemed to come out nicely, other than it was still windy so a bit of drifting here and there.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Today we groomed and tracked: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Rollercoaster, Telford, Sugarbush Classic - just the lollypop section, Sugarbush Dog Trail, Birch Hill, and Oppedahl's. Most places it came out really nice, give it a very good rating.

Firsthand: Both

Indeed the new snow made things very fun. With temps in the teens the tracks were good for kick and glide. Skate deck had been snowed over but it was light enough to make for good skating as well. All in all worth the drive from brown ground Dane County.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The good news this morning is there was probably a little more than 2 inches of new snow on the trails. Steve was able to do the skate lanes of Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, and Rollercoaster. I tracked Raven, Deerpath, Black Bear, and Sugarbush Classic in from Deerpath.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We were able to groom and track: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Seagull Connector, Rollercoaster, Telford, Sugarbush Class, Birch Hill, and the Sugarbush Dog Trail. The skating came out very good to excellent. The classic tracks came out will in 90-95% of the groomed areas, there were a few spots under evergreens that were harder to get a decent track set. The skiers I met were pleasantly surprised by how good the conditions were.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
This morning Steve and I packed and tracked the classic only trails, including: Raven, Deerpath, Blackbear, Sugarbush Classic, and Oppedahl's. I also did a first try at grooming Birch Hill for skate. It is still soft on Birch Hill, will need another grooming to be decent.

Yesterday Sugarbush Classic was retracked. Today we groomed and tracked: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Rollercoaster, Telford, and the Sugarbush Dog Trail. With an inch of new snow, the trails groomed up really well. Other than the few spots we were getting a little drifting, might have been some of the best skate conditions of the year.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
All the skate trails had been groomed this morning, and the conditions were great, the grooming resulted in a pretty smooth, fast skate deck. Really good day for skiing. Did not try out the classic trails.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Today Bob and I were able to get out and finish packing and tracking the classic only trails, including: Ravine, Deerpath, Blackbear, Oppedahl's and Birch Hill. Looked like the trails groomed yesterday setup fairly well overnight. With the balmy temps and sunshine today, will feel like spring skiing, enjoy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
With 4-6 inches of new snow, we packed, groomed and tracked the core trails today, including: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Seagull Connector, Rollercoaster, Telford, Sugarbush Classic, and the Sugarbush Dog Trail. I also packed Birch Hill, but didn't get to grooming it. The trails are probably a bit soft with all the new snow this week, but should setup pretty well tonight.
