Notes

A great mix of beginner and expert ski trails. With the inclusion of the Jerry Jolly Trails there is about 25 km groomed for skating and classic. There is also an additional 15 km of classic only trails. With views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, this is a very scenic area to ski. There is a nice lodge which sells snacks and food as well as a ski patrol and small downhill area.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
With about 2 inches of new snow, I groomed and tracked Anchor, Seagull, Seagull Connector, Rollercoaster, Telford, and Sugarbush Classic - to the tin shed. Most of it ski very well with only a couple of thin spots in the tracks. The exception is on Seagull from the bench to the first yurt, the bulldozer drove out today and left a bit of dirt on the trail. You can easily ski past it by staying on the left side.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Today with about 1/2 to 1 inch of new fluffy snow this morning, I groomed the skate lanes of Anchor, Rollercoaster and Telford. I packed with the ginzu Seagull and Sugarbush classic. There wasn't enough base (probably 1-1.5" of packed base), to reset tracks. So on Anchor Rollercoaster and Telford there are tracks that were set before the last thaw. The tracks skied OK with some thin spots, would rate them as fair. The skate lanes ski quite good, would report them in good condition.

Afternoon
Observation
Brought the snowshoes because we assumed there wouldn't be skiing yet. But there is 4-5 inches of snow, and the trail has been rolled but not groomed. It is skier tracked with plenty of stuff sticking up, but no bare ground noted. Rock skis only. Was nearly 40 degrees today, so snow may not last.
