Even though the trails weren't groomed, it was fantastic back country skiing! People had skied before me, so it was pretty easy going. With the wind we had, I'm sure the tracks have drifted in so you'll have to break trail. For mid April it's an adventure!

[ Trails: Closed, B skis ]
With the blizzard taking effect right now MECCA has decided to finish its season and close the cabin until next fall. Thank you everyone who enjoyed our trails this year and we hope to see you again next year. Hopefully we will have some improvements to show off next year so please come back and have a wonderful summer.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We groomed and tracked the East side of the trail from the main trailhead to the Joe's Shack trailhead. The only trail open on the west end is the Osprey loop. The sun is burning through the base in places but groomed around most. Be extra careful on the Waterfall, the sun has burned through the snow on the hill and you have to walk down this hill. The classical looks beautiful and skaters should love the new snow. We will continue to groom as long as we have fresh snow and skiers show up.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
With the Easter snow we rolled and groomed most of the trail for great spring skiing. The trailhead on Joe's Shack Rd is closed, as town weight restrictions are on side roads. Due to this the only trail opened on the West side of bridge is the Osprey Loop. All other trails on the East, from the Main trailhead are groomed and tracked and in great spring conditions. With this continued winter weather come out and enjoy some great skiing. See you on the trail.

Conditions and temperatures were near perfect today. The track has some ice in a few spots but nothing to worry about. I skied the entire trail system.

We got about 2" from the storm, but that was enough to cover the ice and set new tracks. Trail is in great spring ski condition. Best skiing is early in the day. Get out and enjoy!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails got groomed this morning after the 3.5" of snow last night, and are in excellent albeit a little soft condition. With the continued high wind through the day the open portions of the trail by the Little Turtle and the Treatment plant continue to drift closed so try to stay in the woods. We will go out to straighten everything as conditions allow. Winter finally got here, now we just have to control her.

Groomed and tracked the trail Friday morning after the snow stopped. Conditions are excellent out there for both classical and skating. With the snow hanging on the trees its a winter wonderland. And good luck to all the Birkie skiers. Come ski MECCA tomorrow for a nice leisurely end to your weekend.
