Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The complete trail was groomed today. Little rain yesterday that left an icy crust. Worked that in to the existing base. Should make for a fast trail.

Skied multiple loops northeast of Smyth road. Nicely groomed skate lane. Cold and firm. Classic tracks were deep and solid. Bright sunshine this afternoon. Super conditions.

Trails were excellent for skating and classical. Trails were groomed Tuesday night, nice and flat for skating and tracks looked great for striding. Groomers did a great job on the trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We gave the trail a night time grooming. Had 3 inches of fresh snow to work with. So both the track and skate lane are in good shape. Should be great skiing tomorrow.

On the snow at 10:10 and 22 degrees. Off the snow at 3:05, 24 degrees. I classic skied. Not my best day on the trail - poor grip (new snow needs more time to bond with old). At times the sun was out with no wind, then heavy snow and a good amount of wind. Had a good day.

Very firm base, well groomed. The club facebook page says they spent 8 hours grooming on Friday, and it shows. Lacking new snow, it is very fast. Skied the whole trail from the golf course to county F and back. Definitely worth the trip. There are classic tracks along the entire trail. We skated, so I can't report on what the tracks skied like, though they looked good.

I couldn't have asked for a more perfectly groomed trail to embark on my first skate ski! Under intense observation from hall of fame Birkie finishers who commented on the quality of the conditions: "solid pole plant, full coverage, fast and fun." Lots of happy faces on the trails and in the parking lot, thanks to the groomers! Skied in 28 degrees, cloudy, and at times snowy skies with light winds!

Just got off the Lakewood trails, "atta boy" to the groomers that must have worked awful hard to get those trails in shape. Conditions were icy and fast, tracks were 95% set, lots of folks out enjoying the day, skaters looked to have pretty good going. Base was good, just need more snow and it will be perfect.

Late afternoon ski into the dark. Trail firm with minimal debris. A few icey spots. Softer pole plants. All in all a very nice ski with the trail in fine condition. Get out and enjoy.
