Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Classic skied the purple and green loops. Plenty of snow and very well groomed. No debris on the trails. Classic tracks deep and firm all around. Good kick and glide with Swix blue. Skating deck looks good too, perhaps just a little soft.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Very good: both classic and skate.
The Northern Kettle Moraine-Greenbush trails are well covered and leveled out nicely with the recent snow storm. Skate deck was firm with nice amount of purchase. Classic track was full depth. The fresh snow reduced most of the organic matter that can clog up your kick zone. Well done groomers.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Good skis ]
I skate skied the purple and brown loops today and it was excellent! Firm base and ice only in one low spot on the brown trail. The classic track also looked to be in excellent shape. There was almost no debris on the trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ B skis ]
Conditions: Very nice. In the morning, although all the trails had apparently been groomed for skating, only the Brown trail (7) had classic tracks, and they were good and firm. The corduroy for skating looked great.
The conditions were good, but the skiing was a little slow with the new snow.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Conditions: 11" of snow were rolled and packed on Tuesday and groomed and tracked this morning, which make for soft conditions.
Finally our snow dances found their groove. All trails have been rolled, groomed and tracked. As expected, conditions were soft, but it was pure Nordic Heaven with lots of smiles at Greenbush today. Things will only get better over the next few days as things firm up.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ B skis ]
Skied Tuesday evening under the lights. Trail is extremely soft and needs more packing to firm it up. Good to finally be on snow again and feel that glide again.

Secondhand
Conditions: Groomer Jeff Welsch reports 11" of snow received.
The groomers were packing the trail on Tuesday morning and plan on a grooming and setting a classic track on Wednesday.

Observation
I was hiking out at Greenbush today and it was snowing! Unfortunately nothing was staying on the ground. The ground is not frozen yet.
