Four inches of new snow. New tracks. We were fortunate to get enough snow to work up the Drummond Trails. Conditions are excellent and the tracks are well formed. This may be the last hurrah. The woods are picturesque.

The Drummond Ski Trails remain in excellent shape, even after the above-freezing days we had this week. The high winds did bring down plenty of needles on trails in the pines, but in the open, tracks are in great shape. We did not re-set tracks due to the high temperatures, so they are glazed in some spots, even as they are still well formed. Snow may come over the weekend, if so we will groom it as fast as it comes for Birkie week.

All of the Drummond trails have new tracks today. We received about 3" of new snow in the last few days. Incorporating that into the existing base and setting new tracks made it clean and new looking. Actually the previous tracks were still fine, but the combing effect of the groomer makes it more finished. Classical skiing with waxable skis should be excellent given the single digit to teens daytime temperatures the next few days.

Slick/icy and rocket fast! Classic tracks held up very well through the warm weather yesterday. If you can wax for icy conditions or have skin skis, and enjoy skiing fast, you'll have great fun.

Skied all the Drummond Trails today. The trails were in excellent condition with freshly groomed, deep, firm tracks. The snow was just starting to soften the tracks a little by noon when I quit as the temperature reached the upper 30's.

All trails have new tracks after the eleven inch snowfall we received recently. The tracks are well formed, but a bit soft in places. This amount of snowfall took twice as long to groom, since it was so fluffy.

Today new tracks were set on all of the Drummond Ski Trails. Conditions are quite good despite the thin base. In some places the tracks are excellent, in others not so much. Trash, or as some call it, shrapnel surfaced when the 3 inches of new snow was incorporated. The best skiing is out the Boulevard beyond Jackrabbit. What we really need is a good six inch snowfall to cover it all up.

Today, a whopping inch and a half of fluffy, new snow was incorporated and new tracks set at the Drummond Ski Trail. The tracks look good, despite the scant four-inch base. Redoing the tracks allowed for evening the surface by planing out the highs and lows of trail conditions, making them less bumpy. The best snow and tracks are in the "blow-down" area of the Boulevard. Skiing conditions are very good. Happy New Year and Think Snow.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Today we incorporated about 2 inches of fluffy snow into the existing base and set new tracks on all trails. The base is thin in the pines and there are brambles sticking up on part of the North Country Return trail. The tracks look good, though. Thank you to guest groomer Jesse for doing most of the work today.

This is the first ski trail report from the groomers in Drummond. All the trails have been rolled, compacted and some tracks set. Skiing is decent, but conditions are typical for early season. Not great, but decent. Have fun anyway.
