Only 1/4 inch of new snow yesterday. Groomed skating lanes only today. Lowered the rakers to break up part of the icy conditions on the skating deck. Not a lot of base to rake it too deep. Made two passes on all skating areas. Tracks are from two weeks ago and are very firm. The new snow and flurries today are covering up the icy conditions on the tracks that were present earlier.

Very icy. Almost dangerous on downhills. A few bare spots. Classic tracks set but well worn in areas. Skate tracks groomed too. Lots of hills and hard turns at the bottom. Tracks where people had walked it going up and down hills.

The trails at Larson seemed to have held up well following last Fridays 45 degree temps. There will likely be a few icy spots, but that goes with the territory as it warms above freezing. Will groom again when there is a 1-2 inch snowfall.

Conditions were good, we just had a challenge matching the wax to the mid-30's temps we were skiing. Hope to ski tomorrow there with cooler temps.

Three inches of additional snow fell on Sunday. Groomed all trail segments today. Skating lanes groomed and classic tracks set. Finally some base so shaved off some of the humps and bumps for a bit more even ski surface. Beat the Heat!

2.5 inches of new snow fell, then blew around on Thursday. Groomed all skating lanes today and set track on the trails. 10 degrees forecast for Sunday, so ski all day here till 3 pm, then watch the big game!

The drive up to Larson Lakes from the Twin Cities was definitely worth it. Snow coverage, while thin, was very good. On both the skate deck and the classic tracks there were scattered dirty spots, but nearly all easily avoidable. There were some uneven areas, and a little grass poking through here and there, but there was also a lot of really nice skiing - and good classic tracks. I used my best skate skis without regret. I also ran into the groomer who was out skiing the trails and had a chance to pass along my appreciation!

Looking for tracks? Larson Lake has them! Light snows since last grooming was enough to set track. Bring your best friend and best (skate) skis and ski the trails. If light snow falls this weekend, that should cover some debris showing through the tracks in spots. See photos and new kiosk panels.

The groomed deck was firm with a little roll to it due to low snow conditions, some spots where dirt has been rolled to surface but no problem to step around. Trail skied fast making for a great day to be out!

Groomed 3 inches of fluffy snow that fell last night. Two inches of ungroomed snow on ground before last nights snow. 1.33 inches of base. No tracks set, but ok skate skiing. Upper-interior segments not groomed, but all others trails are groomed.
