Grooming

7 inches of new, fluffy snow. Packed all trails with heavy steel "sheep's foot" roller prior to grooming. Traveled on skate lanes 3 passes to firm base as much as possible. Tracks set on all trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Impeccable grooming as usual. Due to the warm afternoon temps, and 7 inches of fresh snow, it is all very soft. Conditions very wildly between the sun and the shade. Kick wax maybe touchy. My suggestion is to wait until it cools off overnight, and ski first thing on Saturday morning.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Two inches of snow fell from Monday-Tuesday. Next grooming is planned for Friday morning. Until then, classic skiers should be able to ski in the snow from the old tracks.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Only 1/4 inch of new snow yesterday. Groomed skating lanes only today. Lowered the rakers to break up part of the icy conditions on the skating deck. Not a lot of base to rake it too deep. Made two passes on all skating areas. Tracks are from two weeks ago and are very firm. The new snow and flurries today are covering up the icy conditions on the tracks that were present earlier.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Very icy. Almost dangerous on downhills. A few bare spots. Classic tracks set but well worn in areas. Skate tracks groomed too. Lots of hills and hard turns at the bottom. Tracks where people had walked it going up and down hills.

Observation
[ Trails Open: All ]
The trails at Larson seemed to have held up well following last Fridays 45 degree temps. There will likely be a few icy spots, but that goes with the territory as it warms above freezing. Will groom again when there is a 1-2 inch snowfall.

Conditions were good, we just had a challenge matching the wax to the mid-30's temps we were skiing. Hope to ski tomorrow there with cooler temps.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Three inches of additional snow fell on Sunday. Groomed all trail segments today. Skating lanes groomed and classic tracks set. Finally some base so shaved off some of the humps and bumps for a bit more even ski surface. Beat the Heat!
