Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
90% of the trails have been groomed for classical skiing. We are working on getting skate ski tracks in but it is slow going with all the drifting. Some drifts are bigger near the prairie.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
After this weekend's blizzard, there is no lack of snow. As of this update, trails have significant drifts and are not packed or tracked. Grooming will commence once snow clearing operations are complete around the interpretive center. Because of the challenging snow conditions, I expect few trails to get packed today. Grooming will continue tomorrow with 100% of trails open (packed and tracked) hopefully within days.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
All trails on the south end have been packed and tracked except for the Pine Loop, which will be groomed tomorrow. A loop has been packed and tracked in the north trails through the West Prairie, around the tower, and back. Grooming will continue in the north trails tomorrow, around the Prairie Garden Loop. The trails out to the Big Bluestem Loop (via the Headwaters Loop) are in rough shape due to buckthorn removal in progress--deep ruts and wood chips (grooming may not be possible in that area).

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Trails have not been groomed since the weekend's snow, due to our snowmobile being out of commission, but where skiers have made their own tracks, the south trails are pretty skiable anyway. We're hoping to have the snowmobile fixed by midweek. A few sections of trail in the far southwest corner of the Nature Center (near the interstate off-ramp and 21st St) are temporarily closed while crews work on buckthorn removal.

Morning
Secondhand
[ Trails Open: Most ]
The north trails (around the prairie out in the open) have drifted in pretty bad. Had a skier come in and mention that if you are not careful you could break a ski in some of the conditions. The southern trails in the woods seem to be holding up ok. Be careful of drifts but the trails are open for skiing. Will not be until the middle of the week before we have a working snowmobile for grooming again.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Tracks on the south trails in the woods are holding well, with good glide. One loop was tracked on the north trails (around the tower and Prairie Garden Loop), but any trails out in the open have been drifting in. Unfortunately, additional grooming won't be possible until the middle of next week due to a broken-down snowmobile.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
South trails (around the pond and in the woods) have been packed and tracked and are in good shape! North trails are not yet groomed due to drifting and bare patches from yesterday's strong wind.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Almost all of the trails are groomed. South trails in the woods have decent snow coverage over the ice and have been packed and tracked. Tracks on the south trails are really nice; north trails have areas that have blown clean, but tracks have been set on most of the trails. The corduroy for skate-skiing is really nice, even on the north trails. Ski rental will be open over the weekend!

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
The weekend's thaw and rain melted many of our ski trails down to the grass or left slushy puddles that have now frozen into uneven ice. Hoping for more snow to make re-grooming possible.

Afternoon
Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
Since the temperature has been up above freezing all day the snow has become wet and sort of slushy. A lot of traffic out there today. Conditions were much more preferable in the morning than afternoon. There is still enough snow and trails are still ski-able.
