We got about 1.5" new snow Thursday so I groomed trails this morning. It looks nice but the snow pack is still thin, so I would recommend B skis and/or skiing carefully in those areas under the hemlock trees (where snow cover is especially thin). Most of the loops are groomed and very skiable but Rollercoaster and Skidder are still not good.

I classic skied for about one hour today; cold and very dry snow made for some slow going but trail conditions were mostly good. Most of the 12 different trails are groomed and open but I wouldn't advise skiing Rollercoaster or Skidder as they both cross some wetland areas (bogs) that are rough and the snow cover is thin. Hopefully we will get some snow on Thursday and then groom trails again.

Considering how much snow they had, trails were pretty good. Not perfect but enjoyable nonetheless. About 75% of the available trails were open to skate and about 50% of available trails were tracked for classic. Skate trails were hard packed and covered. Classic had only a few bare spots and some tree debris.

I skated and strided the 10km of trails that are groomed and had a great ski. By skiing carefully in the few areas that are thin (under the hemlocks) I avoided putting any new scratches on the base of the skis. Pretty good conditions considering only about 7" of snow cover.

Most of the trails (approximately 12k of the 18k of trails) are groomed and open for skiing. Others will be groomed after we get more snow. The skate and classic skiing were both fair to good today, better if you have a pair of skis you don't mind adding a few scratches to (snow cover is thin in several spots).
The Rib Lake Ski and Snowshoe trails are also groomed and open.

I rolled almost all of our trails yesterday and then groomed about 2/3 (the other third have areas where its too bumpy or the snow cover under the hemlocks is way too thin) of them this afternoon. The tracksetter dug down to dirt or grass quite a lot, so skating is probably better than striding - "ouch!". You could ski it with "B" skis or bring rock skis and don't worry about scratches. Unpacked snow depth is about 6 or 7"; we sure could use more!
