Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
I groomed about 8k this morning. Beautiful, maybe the best groom of the winter. Not sure when I will groom the other 9k of trails. This week should be some great skiing!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
After the 10" of new snow, I rolled most of the trails (12k out of the 17k) this afternoon. This was on top of an already (for the most part) good base It is skiable now, and the plan is to groom some trails early Sunday morning, then do the rest on Monday or Tuesday morning. Looks like at least another week of good spring skiing!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Today may have been the last decent day of Nordic skiing at Forest Springs; forecasts of rain and above-freezing temps tonight may take a toll on the trails. The snow depth is still plentiful, but the south-facing hills have developed several bare ground spots, requiring careful skiing in those areas. " B" skis recommended. I used my only pair of skate skis; dodged the bare spots and the ski bases looked fine afterwards. If you want to enjoy the trails a couple more times, I would recommend staying off the Skidder trail since there is a pretty major bare ground spot at the bottom of a big hill.

Excellent for skating this morning. A bit icy on the south-facing hills but not out of control. Classic tracks are firm and very fast. Get out and enjoy a couple more days of great skiing!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed all 18km this morning, skate and classic lanes. Beautiful, mid winter conditions. Skate lanes are excellent, tracks are mostly excellent but there are some shallow track segments.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After a heavy, 7" new snow, I rolled trails this morning. Plan is to go back out and groom (for skate and classic) the 18k. This is the deepest snow pack this winter and I expect it will groom beautifully.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The new 3" snow was too wet too groom so I rolled/packed all 18k this morning. The plan is for Norm to groom the trail Friday morning so it should be great for the weekend.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I did a little post-Birkie skiing, classical, about 10km this morning. Beautiful tracks but the snow is very soft and slow. Dog tracks in the skate lane are everywhere. I'll regroom skate lanes Tuesday morning, then probably wait for more snow before another groom.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all of the loops today. The 1" of new, moist snow was "just what the doctor ordered"; just enough to cover everything up and set nice tracks and corduroy. I met a couple of really happy skate skiers out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I groomed/scarified the skate lanes this morning to make the hard-packed trails safe and ski-able again. Classic tracks are solid but somewhat icy (blue klister conditions) and some stretches have oak leaves in the tracks. The next groom will be after we get some snow.
