The Carleton College Arboretum trails are open to the public for skiing. The Upper Arb (6.3 km) is groomed for skating and classic and the Lower Arb (12.3 km) is groomed for classic only.

Firsthand: Freestyle 
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
About 4k of groomed trails. The arb is in really nice shape wherever the surface underneath is grass. Be careful where there is gravel, and definitely avoid the areas where the paved paths are lurking. You can probably use good skis if you just stay on the grass. Use rock skis if you want to ski the whole loop.

We got just enough snow that things were more white than green, so ventured out for a while. Unfortunately most of it melted by the afternoon, so we are going to need to wait for more snow before we can do it again.
