Fabulous classic ski with universal klister over blue. The crowds were not there....just an average weekday morning ski (compared to the mass mania of late yesterday morning, which was good Birke practice dodging around folks). A lot of fresh manmade snow in the stadium, but it turned to glazed tracks within 50 yds and was pretty fast.

Good conditions for me and about 250 of my closest friends at Wirth today. Skate deck is in good shape. The only thing to note is that there is a little bit of ice on the downhills, and mashed potatoes on the steeper parts of the uphills. Fun!

Wonderful way to start the day with a nice 15k ski at Wirth. The crew had all the snow guns working overtime with the cold weather - I'd expect more trail to be open soon.
There didn't seem to be any condition issues as of 7am this morning. The classic tracks were well set. Some sugar on the uphill necessitating a bit more concentration to get up the hill in the tracks using skins.
Maybe winter is finally upon us.

Great morning for a New Year's ski at Wirth! Even better conditions than yesterday for both the classic tracks and the skate lane, and the snow is much cleaner than in previous weeks. Not much of any debris to worry about. By late morning it was filling up with lots of folks having fun on skis. The snowmaking crew was busy at work - as they have been all season - so many thanks to the incredible efforts of the entire Loppet trails crew. It's a ton of work and lots of skiers were out appreciating the hard work.

Classic tracks were often glazed, sugary, and nibbled-on, like so many donuts. And, like a great donut, delightful, satisfying, and a fabulous way to start the new year. Very little debris in tracks. Many thanks as always to the snowmakers and groomers, and here's to a continuation of snowmaking weather! Numerous snow guns blazing in the lower stadium and coach's corner hill.

Wirth was in far better condition than I expected! Snow guns were blowing to open up to coach's corner. With only green meadow and lower stadium open, there is only one hill. The flats were pretty fast, icy in some spots but mostly great given weather. Grateful to Loppet for working so hard to keep the trails open.

Skate deck was in decent condition today. There is some leaf debris and small twigs in green meadow. I did fall once after catching an unlucky rut, but I can't complain. The uphills in green meadow were pretty well churned up, so expect a good workout. Snow guns were blasting the entire time, hopefully they will be able to reopen the rest of the trails soon. All in all it was nice to be out skiing in below freezing temps again!

Nice .9 mile loop up through the trees and a nice easy downhill great for practice. Snow was a bit dirty in the corner getting into the woods but don't believe it to be damage causing.

Awesome conditions at Wirth this morning, the skate deck was hard and fast at 7am. Some snow cone was forming on the hill when I left at 9. Tracks looked ok. About 1.5k is open. Snow guns were blowing on Jim's hill up to coach's corner.

Lower Stadium and Green Meadow trails are back open. Jim's Hill, Coach's Corner and beyond remain closed due to extensive effects from the rain and warm temps. We likely will revisit that section with snowmaking once we get back into snowmaking temps.
