Laddies Loppet Short Track Coverage
September 3, 2011Maplelag opened their big mountain biking weekend with a morning time trial followed in the late afternoon with the exciting short track racing. Doug Swanson put in an impressive performance, winning the time trial by 10 seconds over Brendan Moore, then blasting off in the short track and lapping most of the field to pad his stage lead to almost a full minute. Sara Kylander-Johnson easily swept the sparse womens field. Sunday brings the cross-country events featuring a new course layout for the advanced races, including over three miles of new singletrack.
