Chequamegon Coverage

A cool and misty morning for the annual Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival races Saturday in Hayward. The damp conditions, along with some course reroutes, lead to a tough 2016 edition of the Chequamegon 40. Corey Steljes, from Eau Claire, broke away from an elite mens field to solo in for the victory. Abby Krawczyk, St. Paul, pulled away for the womens title. Short and Fat victories went to Bjorn Larson and Rebecca Ireland.
