A self-supported run, bike, or ski race on the Tuscobia State Trail. Start locations and times dependent on race entered. All races finish at the KC Hall in Park Falls, WI.

Opening event for the season, snowmaking should ensure the race. Proceeds benefit the trails and snowmaking operations.

US National Championships. Classic races (individual start) Sunday; freestyle sprints Tuesday; freestyle races (mass start) Thursday; classic sprints Friday. Also a SuperTour event.

A community-driven, hilly, early season 50k at Battle Creek!

A series of races held on Tuesday evenings at Elver Park. Put on by the Madison Nordic Ski club. Individual and team racing divisions. There is a junior race series as well.

Held on the lighted trails at Lapham Peak, online registration preferred. There are also youth and high school series, which start earlier at 5:15 pm and 6 pm. An individual start race is held on Wednesday afternoon to replace the Tuesday Time Trial races.

This informal Wednesday night race series at Wirth Park is based on two-person relays with a different format each week. Bring a partner or sign up to be matched with a skier of similar ability. Adult, child and adult/child divisions. High school teams welcome, but must pre-register. Great way to introduce kids and adults to racing. New in 2025: One night will be at Battle Creek!

Citizen races cancelled due to conditions, HS/MS races still on The second oldest continuing organized ski race in Wisconsin. Adult racing returns in 2024. High school, middle school, and kids divisions also available.

Run on the Birkie trail, it has become one of the most prestigious classic races around.

Racing from ABR to downtown Ironwood, one of the big season opening events.

Man-made snow or natural snow. The man-made snow course is multiple 2.5K loops on the man-made snow trail. If there is enough natural snow, the race will be on the normal ski trails.

Formerly known as the Pre-Loppet and a tune up race for the City of Lakes Loppet. Also a 15K fat bike.

Held at Lapham Peak. Snowmaking loop is the start, at Evergreen Parking lot. Middle school races too at 9:30 am.

Held out on the After Hours ski trails.

Junior National Qualifier racing for the Midwest division. Held on the Mt. Itasca Winter Sports Center's Nordic ski trails, hosted by Mt. Itasca.

Featuring the Claire d' Loon 5K, the Flowage 15K, and the MECCA 30K courses. The Claire d' Loon 5K is a great race for recreational skiers and kids, classic and skate skiers. The Flowage 15K showcases the MECCA Trails and has classic and skate divisions by age and gender. The MECCA 30K is designed to challenge serious skiers, both classic and skate. Racers will be chip timed.

Races part of the Ski de She, a ski event created for women to come together to expand their skills, build race confidence, and connect with fellow women skiers.

One of the oldest races in Minnesota, it's run on the rolling trails at Buena Vista Ski Area. There is also a middle school race and touring event.

Fun evening series at MTU, dates this season are: Jan 20th and Mar 31st.

A point to point race, running from Ishpeming to Marquette. Multiple wave starts. Freestyle starts 40 minutes after classical. Last half of the race is almost all downhill. Finishes at Marquette's Superior Dome. Junior race on Friday.

Junior National Qualifier racing for the Great Lakes division. Also CCSA event with mixed relays on Sunday. Held at Ariens Nordic.

This is a great community race with scenic trails. Held at William O'Brien State Park. Once around park for 12km and twice around for 25km. There's also great kids races with age appropriate distances starting at 1:45PM! Again this year is a 8km wooden ski tour that starts with the classic race.

Recheduled from 1/24 then cancelled due to cold weather. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Winona's ski trails with the return of the Saint Mary's University fundraiser ski race, open to all ages with distances for kids too! With snowmaking capabilities there WILL be a race. Done in collaboration with the Winona WinHawk high school team and the Minnesota Youth Ski League.

The Arrowhead Winter Ultra is an ultramarathon race on bike, foot or skis, covering 135 miles across the Arrowhead Region of Northern Minnesota from International Falls near the Canadian border to Tower, MN.

Starts and finishes at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center on the north end of town and offers numerous class awards. Skiers in the 5K Tour receive completion pins. Benefits the Tom Giese Skier Development Fund.

An urban point-to-point race! Starts at Lake Bde Maka Ska and finishes at Theodore Wirth. There are also 10K tour event, and skijor, ice bike, kids races, Kubb and the post-race party!

All races start and finish at the Mt. Ashwabay Chalet. High school 7K classic, middle school 3.5K freestyle races are available, starting earlier in the morning. Overall male and female winners for each race and winning teams receive a full pie.

Encompassing many of the best trails that Winter Park has to offer, including several technical sections and the normally classic-only Wolf Tracks and Nekoosa trails. A single classic track will be laid on the entire course. The 48km marathon is a Birkebeiner qualifier.

A weekly Wednesday evening race series in Duluth. Technique alternates between Classic and Freestyle from week to week. The venue rotates between Spirit Mountain Nordic Center, Snowflake Nordic Center, Upper Spirit Campground Loop, Lester Park, and Cloquet/Pine Valley. Starts at first good snow; continues into early March, depending on conditions.

Thursday night race series at Lappe Nordic (generally every other Thursday). Events include: relays, obstacle course, sprints, as well as some standard race formats.

A virtual event featuring the Claire de Loon 5K, the Flowage 15K, the MECCA 30K, and the Turtle River Skiathlon (10K classic, 10K skate, 2 legs combined time).
