Elm Creek Series Results

December 8, 2010

Conditions: Temperature: 9F, very little wind; race course was set on the full 5K loop including Valley, Thicket and Northern Light trails, Valley trails being mostly man-made snow mixed with some natural snow, hard-packed base with some loose snow on top, and some sections of the Thicket and Northern Light trails being a bit bumpy on the skate lanes. The cold temperature and man-made snow mixture made the skate lanes very abrasive and felt like sand paper. Classic tracks were set very well, firm and felt gliding faster than skate lanes.

Race distance: 5K, both classic and freestyle, mass start.

Recap: The single digit temperature seems simply a bit too cold for early December ski races, but that did not seem to bother anyone. Tonight’s races were a blast, particularly for the classic racers. Thanks for coming out and tasting the cold.
Odd, you are the Winner of tonight's drawing ($25 gift certificate), please come and claim it next week.
