Elm Creek Series Results

Conditions: Temperature: 31F, little wind, soft natural snow mixed with hard packed man-made snow; nice track set, and very nice and warm racing night finally. The race course is 2 laps of 2.5K full Valley Trail loop.

Race distance: 5K, both classic and freestyle, mass start.

It was probably one of the nicest night for skiing. According to some racers, the race did not even feel hard, maybe considering what we had for weather the last few Weds. In the Freestyle race, Daniel Luoma charged ahead and led the pack up the “Wall” in the first lap. Craig Stolen then took the lead and never looked back. In the Classic race, Trevor Drake, despite using the wrong poles, took the men’s title. It was great to see several new faces at the race. Congratulations to Darren Halzle and Tim LaCroix for their first time try out before the big Birkie.
