Skinnyski.com High School Rankings - Week 2

December 15, 2014

Commentary:

The second full week of racing brought a number of notable results to the table.  Ending one of the longer undefeated runs in recent years, Zak Ketterson, Bloomington Jefferson, lost a race to a pair of speedy St. Louis Park boys - Sean Cork and Liam Schmelzle.  Cork's time was particularly impressive, clocking almost a full minute ahead of Ketterson.  Ketterson seemed to be back on top of the heap come two days later, flying around Elm Creek in the Hoigaards Relays and putting down the hammer on the competition when needed.  Forest Lake boys got their first test of the season, showcasing their top ranking in placing their four best in the top six positions in a South Suburban Conference meet.   That same meet also featured a great match up between the top two ranked girls, with Rocci Wohlk, Forest Lake, besting Eastview's Margie Freed by just six seconds.   The racing action from up north has been a bit sparse as they also wrestle with low snow conditions.  Ely's Seth Prigge has been solid so far, and Cory Rouw, St. Cloud Tech, has been holding off his teammate, Isaac Wieber.

Meets will be a little more sparse this week as the competition increases just to find some snow time.  The first JNQs of the season are this weekend, which should give us some solid head-to-head numbers (though all classic technique) ...
