Regional Elite, National and International Camps Announced

The development camps for the summer and early fall have been scheduled. All camps and projects have selection criteria and are by invite. The National Training Group (NTG) is not listed but the NTG program will provide multiple camp opportunities. Athlete nominations to NTG are based on international, US National, US Junior National and/or NCAA Championship performances from the prior year that display a trajectory toward international excellence.

All Regional Elite Group (REG) camps are operated by the regions and supported by at least one US Ski Team coach. Matt Whitcomb will be at the Eastern REG this year. Jason Cork will assist Bryan Fish at the Western REG. Fish will also attend the Central REG, Alaskan REG and the National U16 camp.

A unique International Junior Camp will be in place of the traditional U20 National Training Group camp in Park City, UT. Thanks to NNF for supporting this project and making this trip feasible. The athletes will do a pre-camp in Torsby, Sweden. Snow skiing in the tunnel in the mornings and rollerskiing on the rollerski track and/or running on the ski trails. The US squad has been granted the full quota of 10 athletes and 2 coaches by the Norwegian Ski Federation. Selection criteria for both the International Junior Camp as well as the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Lillehammer, NOR in February will be announced later this spring.
