Skinnyski.com High School Rankings - Round 3

January 19, 2016

Commentary:

Hard to read a lot into the results from the past week.  A number of skiers appeared to be resting after the US Nationals competition, either not racing or perhaps not racing at full speed.  One interesting note is Amanda Kautzer, Benilde-St.Margaret's, who doesn't show up in the conference girls results -- but does in the boys!   Kautzer has been posting top 10-15 results against the guys.  And from that same conference, keep your eye on another rising star, 8th grader Charlotte (Charlie) Brown, Benilde-St.Margaret's.  The youngster is already posting some top times against the upper class field.  Zak Ketterson continues to cruise comfortably at the top of the boys field, with Anders Sonnesyn, Wayzata, holding the second position skiing well in his classical races.  Dottie Anderson, Robbinsdale-Armstrong, is having an impressive junior year and could be heading for a State Meet podium (perhaps even higher) by next year.  A lot of up and down results and little head-to-head competition means we really didn't change much at all this week.

The Telemark JNQs are on tap for this weekend, using the courses that will contest the Junior National titles on later this March.   Barring another run of bad luck with the weather, this should finally give us some solid data to work with.

Make sure those results are coming in  ...
