State Meet Proposal & Fall Meeting Info
Good Day, Coaches. I hope you are well into your fall routines, of teaching, coaching, working, or playing. We still have not had the ‘big chill’ weather wise that tells us that winter is coming, but it is coming, according to the calendar.
I would like to present to you the work of the committee that was formed this past spring as the result of a unanimous vote to include a Team Sprint Relay into the Section and State Meet programs. We met in person in August, and have been bouncing countless emails around in the hopes of fine tuning it into a clear and concise proposal that we can vote on at our Oct. 29 meeting in Mora. We feel it is an exciting change to our format, and one that keeps us in step with what is going on both nationally and internally. I think it will help if you open them in the order listed below.

I would encourage you to read them carefully, and talk amongst your conference and section coaches. I have included a list of contacts, by section, who you can get a hold of to get some clarification. You could always email me directly as well, if you wish.

I would like to host a meeting, either in person, or virtual via Skype, to discuss the State of MN HS skiing. Topics such as year round training, coaches education, relationship of HS programs with the Club Programs, others? I am proposing this to be either Saturday Oct. 14, or Sunday Oct. 15 at Eden Prairie High School. Time to be determined. Local and Outstate clubs will all be invited to attend. An agenda will precede the meeting. If you are interested in being in on that process, please reply to me via email by Sept. 30.

Please be an advocate for our sport, educate yourself on what is best for our kids and our sport, and attend the fall meeting on Oct. 29 in Mora. Let’s fill the place up! I will also be sending a flyer on the CXC Coaches Training weekend, which is Oct. 22,23, so stay tuned in the coming days.
