Big Island and Back Update

Happy New Year! Things are setting up nicely for this year's event. The ice is smooth and consistent from Excelsior Beach out to and around Big Island. We have a good base around the island and just need some snow for the route out and back. Our groomers are ready!

You can still register for the event! Registration will close at 10pm on Friday, Feb. 8.

Remember, all registration fees are donated to Freshwater Society and ICA Food Shelf!

People have been pretty excited about the new Fat Tire Bike Category that was added for this year. The Bike race will go one lap around the full course after all the Ski and Snowshoe participants go out.

There are also some great new changes with our registration system. You now have the following options to choose from:

  1. Register as a Participant in your chosen category.
  2. Register as a Supporter. This is for people who want to support the event and attend the after-party, but who don't want to race.

Please register today and share with your friends. Event info and schedule are available on our website: http://www.bigislandandback.com. You can also visit our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/bigislandandback/

The After-Party at Excelsior Brewing will be epic! In addition to awesome Awards and Door Prize Drawings, this year we are featuring two fantastic bands.

Wondercure will be back for their 6th year (!!!) to kick off the party from 3-6pm. New this year will be the Rebel Queens rocking us out from 7-10pm

Joey Nova's Pizza is returning as our food sponsor, with free pizza for all registered.

This year the first 200 race participants to register will receive a limited edition logo water bottle.

And to cap off your day in Excelsior, make plans to visit the Ice Castles. Located in Stillwater the last few years, we are very lucky to have this spectacular event adjacent to our start and finish.

Please forward to all your ski, fat tire bike, and snowshoe friends, teams or groups that you know. See you all on February 9, 2019!
