Mighty Miss 2019 Results

Saturday’s Mighty Miss( 5 th annual) had about 60 paddlers participating in three races – 55 miler had 5 boats , 25 miler had 6 boats and 12 mile race/tour had about 22 boats. Winners in the 55 mile were Joe Zellnar and Peggy Gbrielson in 6:58:46 while going against head wind all day long in their tandem surf ski. Second was Michael Lauterbach on surf ski in 7:23:00.

The 25 mile race from Monticello was won by Joe Manns and Alex Brick in 2:57:27 in a pro boat canoe beating John Kallemyn and Dan Luoma with 2:58:42. Winners in female division were Mary Bauer and Maria Schilling in 3:13:57 in a pro boat with Doug Berg and Dave Dahl both over 70 years old winning their division with 3:50:50.

The 12 mile race/tour had the Ed Arenz and Steve Peterson winning the race with 1:37:34 beating mixed team of Mickey Scott and Jerad Clausen with 1:44:53 who finished second overall. Lee Jarpey and Zehyani Bankwala fishished third in 1:46:30. Many recreational paddlers enjoyed the day but the wind made for a longer time on the river this year.
