Minnesota High School Nordic Skiing Rankings - Final Round

February 10, 2020

With sections in the books and the State Meet just days away, we take a final crack at the Minnesota high school Nordic skiing rankings.

Commentary

Surprisingly, no big surprises coming out of sections -- at least not for individuals.  So the final rankings stay mostly the same.   But don't print a copy and hang it on your wall, this is still just our best guess and honestly, there is a lot of parity in the ranks this year.  In the boys field, that top 10, maybe even top 15, are all pretty solid and much of that ordering could be rearranged on any given week.  Cooper Lennox, Mora, appears to be peaking for the end of the season, but Henry Snider, MPA, and Roger Anderson, Robbinsdale-Armstrong, looked great in their section finals as well.

On the girls side, Lauren McCollor, Wayzata, and Libby Tuttle, Stillwater, remain just above the rest of the field, and should give us a great show at State.  But there are a couple of strong contenders that are ready to step up should either falter.

In the team rankings, sections helped fine tune the rankings heading into State.  No changes at the top, Forest Lake boys and St. Paul Highland Park girls proved they are still the ones to beat.  But expect some solid competition coming up from the top five teams on both the boys and girls sides, making the podium picture at State very much up for grabs.

Thanks to all the coaches, parents and fans that helped out this season, sending in those meet results and at times, sharing their own perspective!
