Bearskin Race Series January Update

The December leg of the Bearskin Nordic Series has come to a close.  Despite a lack of snow we still had some very competitive races.  In the Sprint Around the Campground race, Jon Clarke was the fastest male finisher, followed by Matthew Clarke in second, and Quinn McCloughan in third place.  Lily Brown was the fastest woman, followed by Oyla Wright in second and Maureen Hayes in third place.  Jon Clarke and Lily Brown will both receive a gift card to Pioneer Midwest and a Bearskin Lodge ski hat.

In the Summer Home Classic race, Oyla Wright was the first woman finisher, followed by Maureen Hayes in second, and Anne Belleman in third place.  Quinn McCloughan came in first in the men's race, followed by John Alt in second and Tim Lederle in third place.  Because Oyla and John received gift certificates for the Nov. race, Tim Lederle and Maureen Hayes will each receive a gift card and a Bearskin Lodge ski hat.

After a couple of good snowfalls, we have great skiing for January.  The January race courses are The Beaver Dam Loop and Twice Around Ox Cart.  Ox Cart is a classic only trail, so no skating.  Conditions are very fast right now, so it's a great time to plan a trip up to race.
