Mesabi East/Giants Ridge Nordic Invite Update

For over 30 years Giants Ridge has been proud to host the Mesabi East Nordic Invitational ski race, the largest High School Nordic Ski race in the country. The event annually draws nearly 1000 participants as well as hundreds of additional fans and spectators.

This year due to the rain event on 12/28/24 Giants Ridge has been forced to make the decision to suspend Alpine operations 1/11/24 from 9am to 4pm to allow the race to utilize the machine made snow across the base of the alpine area.

To our alpine guests, we apologize for the inconvenience, and we plan to resume alpine operations at 4pm that evening for night skiing as normally scheduled. The Burnt Onion, Food Court and all other operations will continue as normally scheduled.

This is a rare circumstance; however we hope that all of our winter-loving guests can band together to cheer on these amazing high school athletes while they compete at Giants Ridge.
