Elm Creek Series Results
February 7, 2007A small crowd of three brave souls endured tonight's brutal windchill of -22F and raced the entire regular Elm Creek Time Trial/Relay Series 5K course.
I cannot believe John said that last Sunday's City of Lakes Loppet race was not that cold, "in comparison". Devin skated without poles and stayed closely behind John for the first 1.3K before John pulled away on the Valley hill. All the cheers went to Michael as he crossed the finish line. He's definitely prepared to be ready for his Korte/Birkie in less than three weeks.
Conditions: Temperature: -3F (windchill -22F); slow coarse grinding on most of the sections of Valley and Northern Light trails, all covered with natural snow.
Distance: 5K -- entire Valley and Northern Light trails (1 full lap)
John Hopkins 15:18Next week's time trial date/time will be the last race of the season, Wed. Feb. 14, 2007, at 7:45pm, and registration opens at 7:30pm. V-Day treats and door prizes will be drawn at the end of the race.
