2002 Josephine Jam

Lake Josephine, Roseville, MN -- January 5, 2002

Conditions: 29F, partly sunny, light winds

The Josephine Jam was an 8K Freestyle event held on
Lake Josephine in Roseville on Saturday, January 5th.
With all of the recent race cancellations, something
had to be done. I checked out Lake Josephine on
Thursday, the 3rd and found the conditions to be
pretty good. As a result, I sent out a mass email and
got 14 racers to show up for the event. Lou Chouinard
provided the cones which marked the loop around the
lake. We skied the loop three times for a total of 8
kilometers.

Thanks to Barb Woodruff for providing the timing and race photos along with Bruce Adelsman who took numerous photos. Among the spectators were Mike Brumbaugh who skied and pulled his son, Joe, Ahvo Taipale, and about 15 ice fisherman.
