Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Classic and skate deck were set today and are in ok shape. Ice can be found throughout the trail, but viable.
Northeast section was joined to create an "intersection", so be mindful. Other reroutes are intact.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
I was out on the trail at 8am this morning and it was pretty icy/glazed over for most of the course. The groomers have tried to create alternate routes around big icy areas, but it was pretty rutted and uneven. I was able to go off course and do some crust skiing which was great! The trail might be better when it warms up a bit, but I wouldn't recommend otherwise, sadly.

[ Good skis ]
Don't let the ice by the starting area fool you, most of the trail is not icy. The skiing was surprisingly very good. 99% of the trail was good snow and fresh so a little slow but who's complaining. The groomers did a great job rerouting the trail around the icy spots. I skated and would rate it close to 5 stars today. With the warm, bright sunshine it was beautiful Spring skiing!

Lots of frozen ice by the "starting area" off Edgcumbe. Low spots around the course are frozen ice as well. It looks like it was groomed this morning - but the snow isn't great. If you go "off-trail" the snow is OK, but if was worse than I thought it'd be given all the snow we got on top of the rain over the weekend.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Most of the trail is set, but be mindful of low areas and deviations to the trail. There are areas that have ice and water. There are also areas of the trails that were changed and will be softer than normal. Enjoy the sunshine and ski with care!

Evening

[ B skis ]
Possible to ski but there is no evidence of the past grooming. Snow was soft and not too thick in most areas. Some areas are very swampy in areas. Off-trail classic skiing is what is available.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
As I anticipated, I had to ski around the puddles, some of them sizable. It was nice to be outside, but it was clearly my last-ditch attempt to squeeze in a little more skiing, not a great ski. The ground is warm so there are lots of damp spots. I thought there might be some of the base left from earlier this year, but there really wasn't much. Keep your expectations low.

Skate deck is skiable but pretty rutted and icy, with a few bare patches (recommend staying left as you approach edgcumbe to avoid the largest patch of grass). Great conditions for focusing on and challenging your balance. Classic tracks are good in places but mostly iced up. A 1 km section has been regroomed as of today (hats off to the groomer for their skilled work with what we've got). Hoping for more snow soon!

Highland 9 trails will be closed until further notice. Exposed trails and ice. Groomer made efforts to set and reroute, so ski with caution.
