Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were surprisingly good for the limited amount of snow we've had. We received about 3" in the last few days they've done a great job grooming for what they have to work with.

The multi-use trails at Chester Woods Park were groomed today, and classic track was set. We received about 2" of snow on Tuesday and another 1.5 or so last night. Get out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Although we are lacking new snow, the multi-purpose trail was combed out today after the weekend use. The classic track was left alone. There are a few thin spots on the trail as can be expected.

Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The snow is decent, few bare patches, but the amount of debris, especially in the wooded sections is concerning. Rocks are mixed in with the leaf and wood chip debris. I must of thrown at least 10 2-inch size rocks off the trail. Those are the ones I saw. There were plenty I didn't see, but my skis hit. There are several places you literally have to stop and step through because there is so much debris. A rake would come in handy, seriously. The prairie sections don't have nearly the amount of debris. The snow is packed and fast, if you dare. There was a classic track set on a majority of the trails, but I couldn't comment on the quality of the track.

Always nice to ski CW! The trails are 90% snow covered, but some thin spots in open areas and several areas with debris on the trail (likely stuff below the snow from the Dec. wind storm that the groomer chewed up). Skate deck was still pretty soft and very chopped up, as expected with a multi-use trail after a busy weekend. Tracks are solid in most places. Get out there!

Was able to get our on the skate ski trails before they got too chewed up by the walkers and bikers; trail just groomed earlier in the day. Soft new snow on Saturday afternoon. Some areas with exposed grass, few places with exposed gravel and rocks so watch out. Classic track (which I didn’t ski on) had several visible grassy spots.
