Skied on the West Side trails this morning. First time on the Excelsior Road. Wow, what a trail! 3km of a wide, flowing trail. You would think it was laid out with skiing in mind. The rest of the West trails were great, so much that we did them twice vs going back over to the east. The skate deck and classic tracks equally nice.

Ski trails are groomed and great! Super fast and great snow cover. Groomer has done such a nice job! There are few offshoots not groomed but I am guessing 90% groomed.

Nicest skiing of the season. Classic tracks were fast, yet with maximum control due to the several inches of new powder received. Not all trails were groomed as of Sunday evening.

After 4-6" of fresh snow, the crew was out grooming this morning and setting track. Soft deck, but so nice to ski in fresh snow and in clean and deep tracks. My first time here in ages.

We skied both sides and liked the smaller west side best. We had good snow coverage and they started grooming after we finished. The trails should be even better. It was worth the drive from Altoona.

Tom and groomers report an inch of fluff yesterday and then grooming of entire system making for fantastic classic and skate skiing throughout. No bare spots and good skis should be fine.

I skied over the last three days. We skated and classic skied up Excelsior Road, which is hard and great! Going into the West Side ski trails, the classic skiing was decent, the skate deck is still a bit soft. Only the shorter loop is groomed as of today. Earlier in the weekend, we skate skied the Hunter/Walker Loop, which was decent. Coming back in, we took the Whitetail trail, which was pretty freshly groomed and very soft. Took the gravel out a ways and that was hardened up. Great skiing! We ran into the groomers and they said they are working on all the trails. There is a loop north of the Hunter Walker loop that will not be open this season because of logging.

Light snowfall Monday evening and Tuesday morning deposited 1" of feathery powder on top of fresh grooming. Skiing Excelsior Road Monday afternoon (attached photo) was fantastic! Both 'Excelsior Road' (West Side) and the 'Gravel Road' (East Side of the trail system) have very good conditions. The rest of the trails have a thin base with an irregular surface, grassy and dirt spots - skiable but not nearly as much fun as the two 'roads'.

Skied the east side gravel road, it had been groomed, probably with a roller or compaction drag, and had a nicely set up skate deck. No other east side trails were groomed, but excelsior road going to the west side was groomed from the road, and looked great. No tracks yet, and probably B skis for the roads, rock skis if you head into the woods. Surprisingly good for the amount of snow.
