Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skate lanes were touched up this morning, and remain in good condition with small debris littering the trails a bit. Classic tracks are melting down and in fair condition overall. There are some bare spots starting to emerge throughout the system, ranging from a few inches wide to 3-5' wide. The first stretch of White Pine north of Brule River Road has the largest developing bare spots. True to late season skiing, trails will be firm in the mornings, and softer in the afternoons.

Beautiful day to ski. Grooming in progress this morning but even with the warmer temps the trail was lovely for skate and classic. Tracks were overall very nice. Skied for fun today but this would make a great virtual birkie (also fun) later in the week.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Grooming operations have begun today on Afterhours in preparation for the 2021 Virtual Birkie. All trails have been groomed and widened and classic tracks wiped out in order to reset fresh track on the virtual race routes. Some trails such as Spruce, River, and parts of Oak will be tracked on the opposite side of their normal flow for about a week. Grooming plans: Fresh track setting will begin tomorrow morning. Sally's Classic does remain tracked.

Excellent conditions. The trail groomers did a perfect job of packing, grooming and tracking Thusday’s snow before it turned to near concrete from the sub zero temps. Skate deck was mostly untouched for a warmer day, and the classic tracks are well set, offer great kick, and are bomb proof that will not break down for at least a week. Wonderful skiing at Brule.

All trails have been freshly groomed and tracked, except Sally's Classic, which will be re-tracked next week. There's a 7" snow base on the trails, with ski conditions very good to excellent! If you venture out in the cold this weekend, expect some blowing and drifting snow across the trails. Grooming will resume on Monday.

Some of best conditions of the year. Very few thin spots. Classic track is looking good and the skating is very good to excellent. The 2.2 mile snowshoe/fatbike trail has been groomed and is firm and fun too.

Grooming

I groomed Sally's Classic Trail this afternoon and the fresh snow from the weekend produced excellent track and smooth deck. There are only a few areas where some recycled dirt is showing in the tracks. Otherwise the track was perfect. Trails now have 5-6 inches of base.

All trails except Sally's Classic have been freshly groomed and tracked. Sally's Classic is planned to be tracked on Tuesday. Trails may be a bit soft yet before they have a chance to set up overnight. Classic tracks set very well with full depth.
