2020-2021 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 22    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Wednesday, March 3, 2021
Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Took Military, East, West, Devils Run, Lake Loop and Butternut (~20Km of trails). The trails are still holding up nicely. Devil’s run snow became a bit tacky due to some earlier foot traffic but it’s still ski-able.

Got out early in morning to catch great striding and deep track. All trails freshly groomed. Weather looks good for great skiing until possible meltdown. Get after it!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails groomed and tracked. A few inches of fresh snow along with perfect temps made for a great day of grooming and excellent results. There’s a 6 inch base with deep tracks. Get out and enjoy the next few days before things start to melt!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails have been groomed and tracked. There is a 4-6 inch base and overall the trial is still pretty firm. Tracks set nice with the exception of a few shallow spots under the hemlocks, hopefully they set overnight as temps are predicted to be only in the mid to low 20s. Regardless, the weekend weather looks nice so get out and enjoy the trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails groomed and tracked. Hopefully the below freezing temps tonight can get things set before warmer weather tomorrow. If temps cooperate plans are to groom again later in the week. Enjoy the trails.

Excellent condition. They were grooming the trails today while we were out there. Skate lane groomed on all trails. Tracks were set on most by the end of the day. The only trail we saw that wasn’t groomed, and didn’t look like it had been in awhile was the Lake Loop although there was good base to make it a decent experience.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All Anvil trails have been leveled, packed and groomed. Tracks were set on the trails and with the cold temperatures should set up nicely. Since we have not had any temps over freezing snow is still fluffy and soft in some areas of deep snowfall.

After the snow event last week we are working this week to get Anvil trail system packed so that it will hold a good track. With large snow events like we had last week, it is taking more time to pack down the trail and make it suitable for tracks. West trail has been fully packed and tracked. The rest of the trails will be continually gone over until we are happy with the results, hopefully by mid week. Thank you for your understanding as we want to make sure every forest user has the best experience while recreating on public lands.
