Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We have groomed all of the skate lanes and they are in very good condition, a little soft but very good. Track has been set on all of the classic trails and is in very good condition with some areas that have leaves.

5-6" of new snow overnight. Nothing groomed yet, as of 2 pm. A single track skied in by maybe a half-dozen skiers.

An inch of fresh snow over tracks that were groomed and set Monday. Today's skiers have broken trail in the old tracks, and although hikers, dogs and deer have obliterated them in a few sections the trail is in good enough shape to enjoy this scenic area.

The fresh snow has been rolled but not tracked. It doesn't look like the County will be able to set track in this. There wasn't much snow before this. So not much more than shuffling along. Still, it is so beautiful on a sunny day after a snow.

Entire trail system was rolled this morning, but tracks were not set. There is a thin spot with gravel exposed on a corner along the airport. Also, the Izaak Walton road crossing has been plowed and sanded. Both of these could be avoided by taking different trails. Skating trails look good, a bit soft yet.

Skate loop had full coverage. Great early season conditions. Some of the guys from the Point Bock Run helped expand the skate loop to about 3k. From the parking lot take the trail right past the pine trees and will connect you with the old skate loop. The new part has some fun tight turns. Thank you Portage County Parks department for grooming the trails!
