It's been a fabulous skiing season but the time has come to close the trails for the season. Thank you all for your participation and feedback. Spring is right around the corner!

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skate deck was holding up well at 10-11 this morning, with temps rising from 31F and mostly overcast with some headwind from the south/SW. Lots of surprisingly nice firm and even sections, some drifting, and some softness and unevenness that was still very skiable. But overall faster than I thought it would be. Super glad I went for it. Groomers: truly amazing given the tools and conditions -- thank you. There's a special place in the next life for dogs and Nordic trail groomers :) !

By 5pm the south wind had blown in quite a few parts of the classic tracks, especially in the northeast corner on the beginner loop. I didn't try the intermediate loop as my first glance was all windswept, but there were a few brave souls out there cutting a path. A few oak leaves in the tracks, but otherwise it felt great to be out with extra daylight after work. I read on another report that we've had 100 days of skiing. Amazing! Fingers crossed for a few more next week too. Thanks groomers- my season pass has been well worth it!

Very cold this morning at Highland National cross country ski. Very soft conditions with some drifting snow. Fresh groom on the classic and skate deck. Enjoy another day of winter!

Trails were not groomed after the new snow. Classical ski tracks made from other skiers were in terrible shape.

We found good conditions this morning, with just one easily avoided flooded frozen spot. Corduroy was largely washed-out but the soft snow substituted enough for a pleasurable ski this morning.

Hello from the Highland 18! Skiing conditions are acceptable, considering the temperatures we have been experiencing. The course was rolled yesterday, and a new classic and skate deck was groomed today. Come out and enjoy before it gone.

I might have just logged my fastest laps on both Highland trails. For that I would like to thank my many sponsors, my waxing team but most of all I'd like to thank the groomer who keeps these trails skiable week after week through tough weather conditions. Today the snow was packed and fast. A bit of ice here and there but plenty of coverage. I think these trails will be skiable for many days yet.
