Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Recently groomed and in very good condition. The snow was a little slow because of the temperature, but that was the only valid complaint to lodge. Clean tracks, level skate deck.

Had so much fun on Friday, Joanie and I returned here early Saturday morning and did some skating and striding. Some of the trails had been groomed overnight and the ones that had not were still very good with about 1/2 inch of new snow. Outstanding conditions at this Marquette-area trail.

Joanie and I classic skied all the trails midday on this very scenic trail system with lots of tall pines, winding hills, and a great flow. The trails had been groomed on Thursday and had a bit of powder on them from some light snow showers Friday morning, which made for perfect conditions. Well worth the drive from Madison. We have added this one to our lifetime list of favorite trails.

From out of town, first time skiing here. Looks like the groomers got done sometime in the early afternoon. I skated on the wolverine, supreme and wildcat loops. Overall the deck was pretty good and the tracks looked beautiful. It was fast in a lot of spots, however, there were several soft spots, especially near the edge of the trail, but that is going to happen with all the new snow. There were minimal tree branches/pine needles on the trail. Thank you groomers! Felt like a fairyland.

Beautiful classic tracks on the classic only trails this morning. Firm and fast. Skin skis worked perfect today. Trails were starting to get a bit soft and slow when I was finishing up.

Great skating on Superior and Wildcat loops today. Wide skate deck and firm classic tracks on the downhills. All other trails desperately need a groom. Classic tracks are disintegrating and are very washed out. Skate lanes are soft in some spots, hard packed and bumpy in others. Lots of footprints at the end of Wolverine/Lighted Loops.

At of 10 am, no grooming has been done since the last snowfall on December 31 - January 1. Sufficient snow but no tracks other than those done by another skier.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Poor conditions at Blueberry. There are constant ruts in the skate lane on every trail. Classic tracks are sugary and basically non-existent. Trail desperately needs a good grooming. The sun and warm weather was not really effecting the trails today. No new snow in a while, so trails are also very dirty. Definitely use B skis because you will be skiing over millions of pine needles and twigs.

Skied Wolverine loop. The condition was fair. Looks like it was rolled Monday(?) but no track set. Needs grooming.
