Best ski I have had French Rapids in years. The snow was abundant. First skiers out after grooming, and the only skiers...until the high school team showed up. Snow was soft, classic tracks were good, lots of snow!

French Rapids trails were groomed Wednesday, no track set yet. I skied Tuesday in the new powder. There was a deer carcass on the ice in the narrow section of Mississippi that was being nibbled on by an eagle and several ravens.

Skate deck had been groomed Thursday. Moderately hard trail of old/slightly transformed snow, but not as much ice mixed in as at the nearby Arboretum trails. Good kick with blue hardwax, but durability issues... A few thin coverage areas on steeper hills with some dirt and a few rocks plus a scattering of leaves and sticks over entire network. Solid classic track, but mostly unusable to due leaves and terrain (lots of herringbone climbs out there).

French Rapids trails were groomed Sunday afternoon have reportedly have good conditions. Expect some rocks on some of the steeper uphills.

The groomers have worked hard on French Rapids over the weekend and it is in very good condition of all area trails!

Groomers worked on French Rapids trails Wednesday and plan to return today to finish up including setting a classic track. I haven't been out there yet myself but trails should be in good condition.
