Mukwonago received around 5-6" of dry snow Friday into Saturday. We rolled, packed and groomed all loops of the trail today. With colder temps the skate deck and classic tracks should be in great shape. This is the big week! Come on out to Mukwonago and get a couple of K's in before the big race and convince yourself that you are ready for it!

I hit the trails at 12:30 PM sharp, and grooming was still in progress at the time. No machine set tracks for the first 4 km, but as soon as I got to the junction where the 13.5 km trail splits off, there were freshly set tracks which had not yet been skied in. By the time I got back to the parking lot, tracks had been set on the remainder of the trails, so I skied the 7.5km loop. Conditions were quite good, but needed more time to set up properly, so still a little soft. There are a few spots where there is some brush poking through the base, but nothing to cause alarm. Should be amazing skiing there tomorrow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Mukwonago received about 5 inches of new snow. All loops are groomed and in excellent condition. I wasn't able to set tracks on the 4K cut across, but everything else has tracks on it. Hope you can get out and get some kilometers in to train!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Best the trails have looked all year. Finished grooming this morning. Very windy, a lot of debris falling onto the trail. Pictures shown are the better looking part of the trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
It snowed approximately 3 inches at Mukwonago this morning. The snow had low-moisture content and consolidated to about 1 inch of new snow on the deck after being groomed. Tracks were set on all trails. There are leaves and some small twigs in the trail. Happy skiing!

First tracks on the trail and conditions were very good. Some leaf and twig debris in the tracks and on the skate deck but generally avoidable. I'd say I was in the tracks 50% of the time. The outer long loop was rolled but not tracked. So fun to be out in the woods on natural snow. Great job by the groomers with what they've been given!

Grooming

Mukwonago received 3 more inches of fluff. We pulled the groomer around all loops. We did set tracks, but quality varies from excellent to debris filled. I wouldn't recommend using your best skis, but a lot of it can be avoided if you are skate skiing. If classic skiing, plan on not using tracks in places (mostly under the pines). We did not set tracks on the 13 Km loop. The skate deck still has some lumps and bumps, but the snow is smooth! Happy skiing!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Mukwonago received approximately 4 inches of fluffy, low moisture content snow over the weekend. Forest Service staff used snowmobiles to pull the roller with the comb, making two passes this morning. No track was set. There are some small twigs and leaves on the trail. It was approximately -8F degrees when the trail was rolled.

Rolled the 2K and 4K loop. Still lots of small twigs sticking through the snow, definitely some patchy sections with leaves. Would recommend using rock skis. The 7K and 13K were left untouched, great for some back country skiing though.

Mukwonago trail system received 5-6 inches of snow. We cleared a few more trees off the trail, opened the gates, and packed all the loops with the snowmobiles. The base is about 2 inches. We'll need more snow to groom. If you're feeling adventurous it would be skiable with rock skis.
