Disclaimer: I am from Chicago area so the words "decent" "good" and "very good" may have different meanings for me than for skiers from more fortunate ski regions. I skate skied. The classic track is partly damaged by the sun and hikers activities. I skied the Central Loop and some links and found the conditions mainly good and in the leveled sections in the forest, very good. The part going up the tallest incline of the Central Loop has some bare spots with mud and grass sticking up, but they can be avoided. On the way down from the climb towards the warming shed, stick to the left and monitor your speed since the spots on the right side under the trees right after the right curve are lacking snow. I have to say that all the Central Loop and most of the links I skied on were damaged by hikers.

Sun made it feel warmer than it actually was. I found the trail conditions excellent. Yes, there were a few leaves/needles (it is a forest) but nothing to worry about. Skied Central and North loops.

Did the entire system except for the Black/expert loop (not groomed). Tracks were is very good condition and I would give an 8 (of 10)--the only downgrade was a few washouts on canted slopes and a bunch of debris--oak leaves, pine needles, etc. It would be great if the overhanging branches would get trimmed back. Now that I am done complaining this system is really pleasant with challenging climbs and speedy downhills with well-designed runout. Big fun. Can't wait to return. Used my Twin-Skins in temps rising from well below zero and into the mid-teens. However, I kept thinking it would have been a fantastic Extra Blue day.

We had a wonderful ski despite the cold temp. below zero, and the warming cabin being closed due to the pandemic. Very happy to have a freshly groomed trail after 2" of new snow. Skied classic on the Central and North trails. These trails are very special with the terrain and vistas, especially for classic skiing. They are challenging yet manageable, and our thanks to the forest crew for their timely grooming. Definitely worth the trip when the conditions are right.

First time down here, they probably have a 6-8" base and was groomed yesterday. Parked up at the Wildcat Parking lot, trails are pretty cool - very hilly but not overwhelming. The trail could definitely benefit from having a trimmer run alongside where the classic track runs as numerous shrubs stick out into the trail and one pretty good sized branch on a downhill which required some good flexibility to avoid! The skate deck is a little more narrow than I'd like and is pretty uneven (left half is on an angle or different plane than the right half) and has some soft and washout spots. Pretty fair amount of forest debris in the trail, not surprised given the area is heavy forest but figured it is worth noting. Would definitely like to ski it with it cleaned up and leveled out a bit! State trail pass required.
