Best ever conditions! Been skiing here 16 years and Saturday was heaven on earth for the nordic inclined. If you desire a long 2 to 3 hour ski tour, this is the place. If your notions are short and easy through old pines, come here. Got some introverted inclinations? I skied almost 3 hours and only saw the pole marks and the fish scale indentations of three previous skiers that had taken the same outer circle loop as myself, which I highly recommend if you got the time. The grooming has been impeccable and the snowmobiles only faint sounds in the distance. If you are in the area try Sturgeon River, also an excellent area in which to lose your self in a long north woods classic ski.

First time on this very nice trail system. Maps posted at every intersection so easy to tell which way to go. Lot of gradual ups and downs with a few bigger hills made for a fun ski. Groomed for classic only with a single track on a 6 foot wide trail.

Freshly groomed and new tracks set on everything out there. Should be a great few days to get out and enjoy the woods with the warmer days coming.

It was an interesting ski today with many different conditions over a two and half hour ski. A recent 2"+ snow fall made for glorious skied in tracks at times, and farther from the parking lot a powder field with sufficient hints of old trail to provide a pg version of back country skiing. The wind was howling above me, but again dense big trees provided protection from the outside world and plenty of opportunities to stop and look without discomfort. Snowmobiles appeared again just south of trailmarker 13 and trashed the trails all the way to the road marking the end of the pine plantation. Negative vibes left quite quickly, and that small imperfection probably worked to remind me that I wasn't in heaven today, but pretty close.

A rogue snowmobiler took a tour through the trail system. I just finished setting fresh track in those areas. To whomever called in with the tip, thanks! The snow conditions were great for setting a deep solid track.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
More snow this week made for good grooming conditions again today. Everything but the northern swamp loop is groomed and tracked nicely. May have some drifting/debris from the wind today but other than that it's looking real nice out there.

Re set the track today. It was a little tougher to get good track on the heavily used areas closer to the parking lot. The farther out you go though, they look really good. Enjoy!

All trails are set with fresh tracks! We had a great team out grooming this morning, and because of that, we were able to really widen out the trails. Unfortunately, -28F is too cold for my phone to capture a photo of these beautiful trails, so you will have to go and 'ski' them for yourselves!
