Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied between 9:30, 27 degrees and 1:00, 45 degrees. I classical skied and was amazed at the conditions. Track to the south was excellent. To the north very good. Also surprised with the amount of skiers.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
The trail is perfect for classic and skate if you go in the morning before it gets too warm. Good classic tracks (perfect for skins). I did 17 K today.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Grooming was done with the John Deer and the yellowstone groomer. With little exception all the trail was done to 17.5 K, where the black exits onto the blue (past this point, there was a good chance the JD could get stuck on the hills). Conditions are excellent.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Piston Bully groomed the complete trail. This is the second PB groom in three days. Skate lane is nice and firm. Classical track is deep and also nice and firm. We single tracked the classical (classical is on one side only).

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Complete trail groomed with the quad today. Track is excellent. Skate lane a little soft, but should firm up tonight and be excellent for Friday and the weekend. Beware of one rough down hill on the blue trail going north from the golf course just past a snowmobile crossing.

Clear blue skies, sunshine on my shoulders, glistening snow, beautifully groomed trails and firm tracks. Sounds idyllic? It was. Another day of great strides in skiers paradise. Keep on skiing and count to zen.

Afternoon

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
On the snow at noon: 14 degrees. Off the snow at 4:00: 21 degrees. It was snowing the whole time, and the classic tracks were cut deep. Even with the fresh snow the track was great.

Definitely worth the drive from Milwaukee. I skied classic and the tracks were mostly excellent. The snowpack sank under my weight every now and again, which added some balance work. The glide was limited by the cold, fresh snow (started at -2), but the kick was bomb proof. Love skiing this gem and the conditions were superb.
