Nice amount of fresh snow over the weekend made for a nice day for setting new tracks. All open sections are groomed and tracked. Should set up real nice after another cold night.

Skied the lower loop off hwy 73. 5,6,7,4,5. Tracks were hard to follow in some areas, We ski all these trails and they all really need a grooming. Big Aspen has been groomed 3 times. these trails only once a few weeks ago?

Sunday afternoon I skied both portions of the Sturgeon River trail that are north of highway 65. The portion adjacent to the parking lot, which runs along the eastern portion of the river, is packed and groomed for approximately 2 miles, or just after the shelter. This portion is in good condition with only a couple spots of grass. At this point, I turned back and made my way across the bridge on 65, and I skied the portion of the trail that runs along the west side of the river. This part of the trail was packed and groomed for approximately 1.5 miles, and had a couple more areas of grass/shoots, but overall was in good shape.

The fluffy snow packed down for a shallow base but there was enough to set track on all groomed trail segments! And just as we finished grooming I met three excited skiers starting out, awesome!
