Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
We were able to groom a collection of trails Monday that are still skiable. Some thin spots; tracks are set in some places. It is still warm here, so know that trail conditions are still changing daily. Ski backwards day is this Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. Come and celebrate the end of a great season! Grooming plans: We will update Friday with what will be skiable.

We lost a lot of snow yesterday. Groomed green this morning but that's it. Everything else is very icy and unskiable. Ski at your own risk.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Sweet sunny day with plenty of great real snow. Those 2 inches really did good for the trail. Grooming was perfect given the lack of snow this month. The purple trail was perfect. Classic has the known variety of conditions at this time of year. Skate is unbelievable everywhere. Thanks to the groomers this year for making skiing fun. Hope the snow lasts. Get out there before it all goes away. B skis are fine; just a few spots to look out for, nothing terrible.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Great conditions. Skate deck has full coverage with beautiful corduroy and only a few places with grass/dirt showing. Classic tracks looked very nice with a few places where skiers would need to leave the tracks to avoid thin stretches.

[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Fresh snow from yesterday and recent grooming made for excellent classic skiing on the blue/black loop! Tracks are in better shape than two days ago. Cooler and windy conditions were favorable, felt very nice in the sun! Get it while it lasts.

Black Birkie Hills: open, tracks set. B skis. Field of Dreams (Black): open, tracks set. B skis. Streamside to cardiac: open, tracks set. B skis.

Excellent day at Iola, definitely worth a drive. The tracks are a bit thin in places, but that didn't actually slow anything down. There is some debris, but that didn't really affect anything, either. There are some easily navigable areas of dirt/grass. All told, the whole system was good/very good, I'd say. And they were getting at least an inch of snow this afternoon.

Great conditions today at Iola for classic skiing the blue loop. Temps were in the mid 20s and no wax skis worked well. Tracks had just enough cover and the skate bed was freshly groomed which made the downhills very controllable. Just a couple of short bare track spots mostly in the sunny field area. Beautiful day to ski; tracks are pretty thin but very skiable. Skate base looks great. Kudos to Morgan for the fresh grooming!

Another bluebird day in Iola today. The skate deck was sweet and soft. No problems with using good skis; we used B skis. Just a little oak and pine needles were in the tracks, and very little was in the skate deck. Classic tracks are shallow, but they work well. We need more snow; I can't wait to go back. The green and blue loops have great snow cover, very little ice, and the snow on top is all good.
