Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Rock skis ]
Three inches of new snow over an icy base created good skiing conditions today. No grooming, no tracks, no skiers, no problem. Fun ski on a white carpet allowed me to see and here cranes, geese and an owl. If this was the last ski of the year, it was wonderful.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Still a solid skate deck out there in most sections. I skied parts of the purple, green and red trails. Some ice, especially in the evergreens. Some bare spots. It started to get a little too soft just as I finished. A little icy, snow falling while I skied. Hopefully an omen of good spring skiing to come. Thank you groomers for not giving up on the trails.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Arrived about noon which was late for best skiing but conditions did not disappoint! I skied brown, red and green trails all good coverage except for one big bare spot on the green at southern power line intersection. The deck was groomed very well- thanks Jeff and good to see you again. Pretty firm even into early afternoon with some softness with the warmth. Pine plantations are icy and thinning but skiable.
All added up it was a great day of spring skiing!

The skate deck on some of the trails had been groomed this morning. I skied parts of the purple, green, and red. Great coverage on all trails. There were no bare spots. Some ice, especially under the evergreens. My ski started fast but quickly slowed down as it started to snow. It snowed hard for about an hour with about 1/2" to 1" of accumulation. A very wet snow that really tuck to the bottom of my skis. Get out there and enjoy! There still is some great skiing to be had.

Afternoon

[ Good skis ]
The afternoon window led to great skiing at Greenbush. It’s a little slick and hard to edge at the beginning where the trails overlap but once you get out on the green and purple it was great. Worth the trip if you can get out in the soft but not too warm window. There is a fair bit of pine debris and classic tracks are minimal.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
All trails open, no tracks set. Most of the system has been scratched up over the last couple days. Conditions are getting quite icy. Certainly not worth a 50 mile drive; maybe 20 if you like ice. I classic skied the Red and it was okay, but I like fast.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trail segments are in good condition. Mark grounded it up the last couple days resulting in very good skiing, better for skating. Some debris remains but awfully good skiing experience. The groomers will be out there every morning over the next few days. Please join the ski club to support these efforts.

I was lucky to arrive this morning to freshly groomed purple, red and brown trails. Just the skate deck was groomed. Pretty good conditions overall, with complete coverage. There were just a couple of small icy spots. Some debris on the trails but nothing horrible. For the most part the skate deck was solid with a little fresh corduroy over the top. In a couple areas the snow was soft. The classic track was not touched by the groomer. It was well worth the trip out there.

Very nice! Skate lanes were fast, firm and fun! The high winds blew some debris down onto the trail in the afternoon, but it was fairly easy to ski around.
